Safety

Our #1 priority is making sure all members of our Team go home safely to their families.

We have a responsibility to every Team member – our employees, contractors, clients, and shareholders — to proactively work on strengthening safety.

We believe safety starts with the people who make up our team. Fostering and encouraging a culture of safety, where safety is a part of every process, is paramount to achieving a zero incidence record. We also believe that investing in training our employees helps keep everyone safe. All our drillers are trained and carry certificates in:

  • WHMIS
  • Fall arrest
  • due diligence
  • transportation of dangerous goods
  • Spill response
  • Lock and tag out
  • Isolation training
  • Fire protection
  • St John’s Ambulance, first aid and CPR
  • Anti-harassment training

As part of the team safety program:

  • Safety comes first in all activities.
  • We are continually assessing, investigating, evaluating and improving our safety systems
  • We invest in having up to date, safe equipment
  • Safety guards in place over all rotating parts
  • Regular safety inspections of our equipment and sites
  • PPE provided and properly worn
  • We are registered with the Canadian Diamond Drilling Association (CDDA) DEC program
  • We are involved in the CDDA Board of Directors, and serve as advisory member of the National Occupational Standards Development Committee of MiHR for Diamond Driller.

CDDA DEC Program
As a member of the Canadian Diamond Drilling Association (CDDA), Team Drilling is certified by the CDDA’s Drilling Excellence Certification (DEC) program. The DEC program was created to improve environmental and safety performance across the drilling industry, and sets standards that help companies demonstrate to clients and regulators that they have a health and safety, environmental and quality management system. Companies that are DEC certified have met or exceeded the program’s requirements, and have demonstrated a high commitment to safety and professionalism in drilling.
